Derek is 25 years old with a lot of fight in him, for the last 4 months Derek has been dealing with unintentional weight loss, night sweats, chills, fatigue, high fever, chest pain, persistent cough and difficult breathing.

On August 8, 2009, Hudson Hospital took x-rays and found something. The doctor then ordered a CT scan to be done on August 10th. They found a 7" mass in front of the lungs surrounding Derek's major organs. On August 14th Derek was diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma at stage level 3. Not long after they diagnosed his cancer, they found a 5" mass that had spread near Derek's left kidney. On August 20th, Derek started chemotherapy and is expected to go once every 3 weeks for 6 months, hoping not to have to do radiation.

Derek is so blessed with the best support of his family, friends and people whom he doesn't even know that will be praying for him through this long journey ahead. He is a fighter and he will get through this.
